Troy° Hot Water Bottle
Stays warm twice as long – and much safer.
Stays warm twice as long – and much safer.
The patented TROY° hot water bottle: With ingenious salt pad, premium cover and safety lock.
Conventional rubber hot water bottles or simple gel pads are no match for the patented Troy° hot water bottle as it features a latent heat storage, that provides pleasant warmth for more than twice as long*. What‘s more, because the heat is temporarily stored, the heat against the skin is significantly reduced.
Protection against burning.
You can even fill the bottle with boiling hot water without worry: The salt pad absorbs heat and thus cools the water within minutes to a safe 55°C. This way, you‘re protected from skin damage and burns, which is especially important for children.
Protection against scalding.
Simply close the drip and leak-proof screw cap and remove the locking head. The hot water bottle cannot be opened unintentionally now, and there’s no need to worry about leaving children alone with the hot water bottle.
Heat retaining two-sided cover.
The yellow side of the cover lets you feel the pleasant warmth. The blue side is double layered and retains the heat much longer. Thanks to the two different colours, the sides can‘t be mixed up. Removable fleece cover (100% polyester) with zipper and washable (40°C). Inner bottle made of high quality polyvinyl chloride, much more durable than conventional rubber. Capacity 1.8 litre. Size 34 x 22 x 6 cm (13.4″ x 8.7″ x 2.4″) (L x W x H). Weight 610g (21.6 oz). Made in Germany.
* The company phoenix GmbH & Co. KG compared the hot water bottle in December 2014/January 2015: The Troy° hot water bottle with cover and a conventional hot water bottle with cover were studied over a period of 7 hours. Both hot water bottles were filled with approximately 61°C hot water. The conventional hot water bottle only reached the optimum temperature range of 50-38°C after about 2.5 hours, and then for about 2 hours. The Troy° hot water bottle reached the optimum temperature range after about 15 minutes and for about 5 hours – twice as long as the conventional hot water bottle.
This is how the salt pad works:
The sodium acetate salt – which is also used as a food additive – trapped in the plastic pad dissolves when the bottle is filled with hot water and thus absorbs energy. Upon cooling, the salt crystallises again and releases the stored heat back to the water. As a result, the perfect temperature (38 - 50°C) is maintained for much longer.
