Dyed and knitted by hand: Rare Sleeping Beauty pattern in a lovely range of colours.
By Kero Design.
We too wondered where the pattern on these knitted accessories got its romantic name - and suspect that the thick, 3-D bobbles reminded the inventor of the many velvety rose blossoms surrounding Sleeping Beauty’s palace. It is an old pattern handed down through time - far too complicated for modern machinery. Peruvian kniters still create it by hand.
Downy-soft baby alpaca is one of the most precious fibres in the world.
The fine bundles of hair are diligently selected by hand. As soft as cashmere, baby alpaca is still remarkably resilient and resistant to abrasion and pilling. And it hardly absorbs odours. The incredible colours range from orange, red, dusty rose, lilac, and aubergine to turquoise, mint and olive – machine dying could never produce a colour combination like this.
Each piece is unique.
