Porsche myth: The legendary Carrera Type 547 racing engine as a 1:3 scale model with moving parts.

Self-build in about 5 hours. A much-admired focal point for your desk, in your living room, office, etc.

To this day, the Porsche Type 547 racing engine is considered unique in the racing world. Constructed by Ernst Fuhrmann in 1952/1953, the legendary 1.5-litre racing unit was mainly used in the Spyder 550 and the Porsche 356, and brought significant victories for the company from Zuffenhausen. In the Porsche 550 Spyder, the four-cylinder boxer engine powered the first thoroughbred Porsche racing car: With 110 hp and a top speed of 220 km/h.
Now you can faithfully reconstruct this masterpiece of engine technology.
Based on original drawings and in close cooperation with the Porsche Museum, this 300-piece kit was produced on a 1:3 scale. In about 5 hours you can construct a much-to-be-admired functional model out of it – with moving engine components and original boxer sound.
Captivating and relaxing at the same time. Without tricky gluing.
The 48-page construction manual explains and illustrates every step and guides you through the assembly process.
Gain fascinating insights.
Accompanied by the rich sound of the original engine, watch the crankshaft, pistons and valves move and the fan rotate. Even the sparks in the cylinders are simulated with LEDs. A fascinating sight that makes the mechanics of the engine concept visible and comprehensible.
The richly illustrated accompanying book tells the success story of the legendary engine.
With many historical photos, drawings, posters and information (German/English) on the origin and subsequent development of the Type 547 engine in series racing. 120 pages including installation instructions. Written by Jürgen Gaßebner, one of the most famous authors of engine books.
Also perfect as a special gift for every Porsche lover and technology fan.
Made of rigid plastic. Size built (W x D x H): 32 x 28 x 25cm (12.6" x 11" x 9.8"). Weight: Approx. 1.4kg (3.1 lbs). Including base with sound module and nameplate.

Spectacular and unforgettable by racing fans.

In the 1954 Mille Miglia endurance race there was a spectacular, not to mention risky, victory for a Spyder 550 with the Type 547 racing engine. Thanks to the high engine performance, driver Hans Herrmann and his co-driver Herbert Linge managed to only just pass under a closing level crossing gate and leave the competition far behind.
