A masterpiece of Hungarian shoemaking art – welted from selected cordovan leather.

The Budapest boot with warm lambskin lining. From the manufactory of Heinrich Dinkelacker.

One of only a few selected manufactories to do so, Heinrich Dinkelacker processes shell cordovan from the long-standing tannery Horween, Chicago, founded in 1905. This rare smooth leather comes from the muscular flanks of premium draught horses. In a shell-shaped section with a diameter of only approx. 30cm (12"), the fibrous tissue is particularly dense. The resulting leather from this section is extremely robust, resilient to scratches, wear and tear and is highly water-repellent thanks to the naturally high fat content. Soft lambskin on the inside warms your feet.
Less than 1% of all shoes on the world market are welted.
Heinrich Dinkelacker still makes traditionally welted shoes. Welting means that the shaft and outsole are stitched together by hand on a flexible frame. This makes the boots a lot more flexible and durable than simply glued ones and allows them to optimally adapt to the shape of your foot.
An investment for life.
Once you have broken in the boots for a while, your foot imprints its own incomparably comfortable bed in the cork mid-layer. The patched rubber outsole protects against moisture and guarantees a secure foothold even in wet weather.

Colour: Burgundy. Upper: Horse leather. Lining and insole: Lambskin. Outsole: Rubber. Made in Hungary.
