Unusually light and flexible.
Leather sneakers fashioned using rare California technique. Made in Portugal. By COM.
Only 215g (7.6 oz) in size 9.5: This sneaker with the pliable foam sole is a true lightweight. Unlike most of its kind, it still has a midsole as an additional cushioning layer – like the branded sole of high-quality business shoes, but in this case made of textile. Plus, it’s firmly sewn to the insole and the shaft all the way round using leather strips typical of the California technique. As a result, nothing can come loose or slip (which unfortunately often happens with simple glued on soles).
Chrome-free tanned leather and airy perforations make it ideal as a barefoot shoe.
This leather sneaker is really affordable, considering it is partially handmade (under the removable footbed, the hand-stitched California seams are clearly visible). The young label COM, which stands for Creation of Minds, is still an insider’s tip in this country. The absence of bulk storage facilities, representative showrooms and expensive marketing enables the outstanding price-performance ratio. Unlined. Padded shaft edge and tongue. Six-eyelet lacing.
Upper: Leather. Colour: Navy. Removable footbed with leather insole. Outsole: EVA.
