From the Pro-Idee Special Shop Fashion Classics

Original Bavarian shoe. Almost unchanged since 1803, but with new, lightweight Vibram® rubber sole.

Traditional double stitching: Waterproof and incredibly robust.

Robust, practical and beyond any fashion trend. These original Bavarian (Haferl) shoes are still made almost totally by hand in a Hungarian shoe manufactory – in a design which has changed little since 1803. Only one thing has improved over the years: The weight. Instead of the original heavy sole with forged nails and iron grips, these Bavarian shoes have a light, abrasion-resistant Vibram® profiled rubber sole.
It takes around 200 stages to make a pair of Bavarian shoes.
The shaft is sewn from exquisite leather skins which are shaped using the classic Allgäu Haferl last. The frame is sewn to the leather upper and insole in the classic shoemaker’s way. This makes the shoes supple and flexible. Felt is placed in-between the insole and the midsole – this way the Bavarian shoe adapts to the shape of the foot perfectly. The distinctive (double-stitched) double seams along the frame join the leather upper and sole particularly robustly. The protruding edges keep scuffs and water splashes away from the leather. Support caps inserted at the front and back make the shoe particularly shape-retaining. The raised heel cap and the deep ankle cut give your feet secure support.

Upper: Cowhide. Lining and insole: Calfskin. Outsole: Rubber.
