Alan Paine Fair Isle Waistcoat

From the Pro-Idee Special Shop Fashion Classics
  • Spun, designed and knitted in England.
  • Fully fashioned to retain its shape.

The British original among many trendy patterned waistcoats.

Traditional Fair Isle pattern. Yarn by Z. Hinchliffe & Sons. Knitwear by Alan Paine.

The story of this artfully 5-coloured knitted jacquard pattern goes back to the 1920s, when the uncrowned King Edward VIII appeared in public for the first time in a Fair Isle pullover. The fine lambswool comes from England’s oldest spinning mill, Z. Hinchliffe & Sons, founded in 1766.
Spun, designed and knitted in England.
Alan Paine has had more than 110 years of experience with high-quality knitwear. And today, the traditional company, with its small, fine collections, sets itself apart from mass-produced goods knitted on extremely fast machines.
Fully fashioned to retain its shape.
Elaborately knitted and featuring rib-knit edges, the waistcoat retains its shape for years without wearing out. A real classic piece that confidently survives any fashion trend and that matches many items in your wardrobe. Plain grey back. Six sturdily sewn 4-hole buttons.

Straight cut. Length in size 40: 59cm (23.2"). Colour: Grey/taupe/bordeaux/blue. 100% virgin wool. Hand wash.
