All-rounder for tasty, low-fat and low-calorie barbecuing, braising, stewing, roasting, etc. Free from harmful substances and temperature shock resistant up to 900°C (!).

These cooking dishes in brick design are real eye-catchers and multi-purpose at the same time. Made of particularly pure clay that is many millions of years old, from the Westerwald in Germany. Newly developed by RÖMERTOPF®. Free from harmful substances and even heat and temperature shock resistant up to 900°C (!). Perfect for the barbecue, oven, microwave and hob (except for induction).
Without any effort; low-fat, vitamin-rich and aromatic food with an enjoyable difference.
Simply put sliced peppers, aubergines, etc. in the Brick and then put it on the barbecue. Cooked in their own juices, your vegetables retain their flavour and nutrients and are ready in less than 30 minutes. Fish and meat are succulent and tender. Or bake lasagne, casseroles, bread, cakes, etc. The fine-pored natural clay gets as hot as cast iron, but gives off the heat much more slowly and evenly. The previously hydrated lid prevents the natural juices of the ingredients from evaporating. Without the lid, also ideal for gratinating.
No need to put the food in a new dish, as you can just put the Brick directly on the table.
Bottom section is glazed, making it cut and scratch resistant. Holds 600ml (1 - 2 servings).
Available in a natural colour or – exclusive to Pro-Idee – with an orange outer glaze.

Inspired by traditional brick making in Africa. Winner of the young talent competition “ein&zwanzig” of the German Design Council.
During an internship in Uganda, design students Timm Donke, Leif Czakai and Nathan Fordy learned how to make house bricks there. For this purpose, raw, manually modelled clay cubes are piled up in the form of a kiln, which is then fired from the inside. This gave the design trio the idea to hollow out the “bricks” and use them as robust cooking dishes. Now handmade in Germany from probably the best material there is for this purpose: The original Westerwald clay of RÖMERTOPF® Keramik.
