The ingenious glass. Perfect for all wines, sparkling wine, champagne and digestives.

Designed by professional sommelier Peter Steger.

Now, regardless of how many guests are coming, how many wines you are comparing or how many glasses have already been used, you will always have good-quality, matching glasses at hand – without having to buy countless different kinds that will take up valuable cupboard space. At the same time, you won’t have to deny yourself the pleasure of drinking wine served in a glass that brings out its qualities to the fullest.
This ingenious Steger Glass is perfect for emphasizing the bouquet, flavour, aroma and intrinsic character of a wide variety of wines.
The Steger Glass is similar in shape to the official INAO glass of the French Institut National des Appellations d’Origine which is used in wine tastings all over the world.
This glass, however, is considerably larger, more elegant and of better quality, therefore suitable for the most prestigious occasions. It is being used increasingly for top-class wine tastings, as it allows the taster an unspoilt, all-round impression of the wine.
Peter Steger has been working with the director of a glassmaking company and other sommeliers and winegrowers for the last 2 years to produce the optimum wineglass.
It is bulbous at the bottom, giving the wine a large surface area so it can breathe well and release its aromas. The straight sides stop the aromas from becoming trapped and prevent undesirable swirling. The narrow opening collects the aromas and brings the wine automatically onto the centre of the tongue, for optimum distribution in the mouth. Ideal for red, rosé and white wines of all grape varieties , for sparkling wine, champagne, cognac, brandy, whisky, fruit-based spirits, grappa, sherry and port wines.
Patented Tritan™ crystal glass.
The lead-free, barium-free formula with titanium and zirconium ensures a brilliant shine – even after a hundred cycles in the dishwasher this glassware will still sparkle like diamonds. Its surface hardness is actually greater than that of steel and is far superior to ordinary types of glass in terms of shatter-resistance.

This Steger Glass Magnum is not to be confused with smaller “one size for all” glasses, which are limited in terms of their suitability for red wines.
“Only one shape of glass for a wide variety of wines? We were completely convinced of the merits of this idea during our most recent visit to Château Mouton Rothschild: Not just at the wine tasting, where uniform-sized glasses have long been the norm worldwide, but also at the reception and dinner at the Château, all the drinks were served in glasses of exactly the same shape and size – from the champagne served as an aperitif to the dessert wine. If now even Mouton Rothschild opts for uniform glasses on prestigious occasions, it can definitely be assumed that they have achieved cultural acceptance at the highest level.”

Mondavi, one of the most famous US wine dynasties, uses this glass for international tasting and wine events. This glass is used to serve the exquisite wines in first class hotels such as the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai. And many international wine-makers trust in its integrity.
