The famous butterfly chair – as a luxurious edition with cuddly, long-pile grey Icelandic sheepskin.

Once a pioneer of unconventional comfort, today an extremely elegant classic. Original by Cuero/Sweden.

Sitting straight in a stiff way was yesterday. This revised edition of the world-famous butterfly chair is ideal for leaning back after a hard day’s work – comfortably supported by fluffy, soft Icelandic sheepskin.
More beautiful, more comfortable, more stable – with 30% more room to move.
While the classic previous model was rather dainty, this lounge chair is spacious enough to snuggle up in. The back section is a generous width and reaches significantly higher: Even tall people are comfortably supported. The curved feet of the 4-way crossing frame, made of matt black powder-coated tubular steel, are generously rounded. This gives the chair a non-slip grip, and the weight load is better distributed than on the once sharply curved feet.
The cover is made of super-soft, long-haired, thick Icelandic sheepskin and is perfect for cuddling up. Each one is unique.
Icelandic sheep are one of the oldest and purest breeds of sheep in the world. And only one in 100 sheep born develops the dense, soft, up to 50mm (2") long fur in the rare shaded grey pattern. A coveted rarity. Each of the precious, large skins is untrimmed and is vegetable tanned. Its full beauty is thus preserved – wonderfully soft and shape-retaining at the same time.
High quality and durable processing.
The slipcases for the steel frame loops are quilted for durability and stability. Specialist leather cleaning required. Brushing is usually sufficient. Measures 92 x 87 x 86cm (36.2" x 34.3" x 33.9") (H x W x D). Seat height approx. 36cm (14.2"). Weighs 12kg (26.5 lbs). Carries 130kg (286.6 lbs). Can be assembled in just a few minutes. By Cuero, made in Sweden.

The back of the armchair is a generous width and height – comfortable seating comfort even for tall people.

The prototype became a global success and is part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
The legendary butterfly shape originates from the 1930s and was designed by the Argentinian design trio Antonio Bonet, Jorge Ferrari Hardoy and Juan Kurchan. Early on, Swedish company Cuero re-introduced the classic to the market – and today produces it in a revised edition that corresponds to contemporary comfort in terms of dimensions and materials.
