White, simple and beautiful: The Lyngby vase from the 1930s – now reissued.

Denmark’s iconic design made of fine porcelain – with a strikingly ribbed texture shaped by hand.

Their minimalist shape made the Lyngby vase the epitome of modern elegance in the 1930s. Produced in Denmark in 1969, the iconic vase was found in almost every house of the design-loving Danes. Now it is experiencing a big comeback – as a detailed re-release – which is manufactured for the Danish label by a long-established Thuringian porcelain manufacturer. The technology, design and glaze have all been kept exactly the same. The typical Lyngby stamp on the base bears witness to its authenticity.
Made as precious porcelain sculptures.
First, a prototype is manufactured with the highest precision, whereby the ribbed texture is shaped by hand, accurate to the millimetre. Then, the negative moulds of the vases are removed from this prototype. A maximum of 50 vases can be produced with one mould before it needs to be replaced by a new one.
Elegance of enduring beauty.
Grooves all around the vase accentuate its slim design, and give the cylindrical shape the look of a chic, sculptural column. The distinctive relief provides a good grip and adds texture to the pure white. The thin foot raises the vase like a column and provides a stable stand.
More versatile than conventional vases.
Whether for tulips, roses, wild flowers or foliage and fir green: The Lyngby vase enables the most beautiful arrangements – even with only one flower. Also perfect as a sculpture, or for pens, brushes, miscellaneous items, tubes, etc. Glazed both on the inside and outside. Easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. Available in three sizes: 15, 20 and 25cm (5.9", 7.9" and 9,8") H. 8, 10 and 15cm (3.1", 3.9" and 5.9") diameter. Weight 0.35 (0.8 lbs), 0.7 (1.5 lbs) and 1.3kg (2.8 lbs).
