Little Sun: Highly efficient solar light. Small art object. And a meaningful social project.

Incredibly versatile and conveniently to hand at all times.

Forget about the usual solar lights. This small, powerful solar power station called Little Sun has been designed by the renowned artist Olafur Eliasson. His installations in London’s Tate Modern have excited millions of visitors. With Little Sun he has combined art with social impact. The Little Sun solar light has been created together with engineer Frederik Ottesen. Its goal is to bring light to the 1.1 billion people who do not have access to clean, affordable energy.
A versatile companion – both at home and on the go.
Provides light wherever there is no electricity. Ideal on water and on land, when camping, on dark garden paths and in the evening when going for a walk. Also perfect as a light in the attic or as an emergency light on the go.
For countless people it’s a beacon of hope for a better quality of life, better education and a decent livelihood.
Many parts of the world don’t have electricity. Conditions for the people who live there can only improve if they have access to clean and free-of-charge light. Instead of the environment and health-damaging petroleum lighting, Little Sun offers them clean, safe and bright light. Solar power costs nothing and is also portable, which makes the lamp perfect for working, crafting and reading – even at night.
Cable-free and independent of the mains: 5 hours of charging in the sun produces more than 50 hours of light at the dimmest setting or 4 hours at the brightest setting.
The secret to its enormous light output is a highly efficient monocrystalline solar panel (6 x 6cm (2.4" x 2.4")) and an integrated LiFePO4 battery AA, with 400mAh capacity and 3.2V. The LED bulb (4.500K) is dimmable to 2 lumens. At full intensity (30 lumens) the light intensity remains constant for 4 hours.
Added social benefits.
Each time you buy a Little Sun, another one is delivered to someone living off-the-grid at a much lower, locally affordable price. This is a great help for people who didn’t have access to clean light before. Measures 12cm (4.7") in diameter. 2.9cm (1.1") thick. Weight 96g (3.4 oz). Housing in sun design, made of robust, easy-care ABS plastic. Delivery includes a textile neck strap.

Easy to carry and take with you.
