It looks like a slim, shimmering metallic candle. In reality, however, the flame comes from a cylindrical, 23.8cm (9.4") high candlestick made of matt gold or matt silver stainless steel. Take off the square stand to see how the technique works. A spiral spring in the stainless steel body holds a standard wax candle (maximum 18cm (7.1") H, 2.2cm (0.9") diameter, sold separately) and gently pushes it upwards using the pressure from the spring – gradually and invisibly from the outside. This way, the candle burns down to the last remnant. However, the stainless steel body makes it look like the candle is maintaining its full length right up until it is extinguished.
