A merry piece of Norwegian Christmas tradition.
Gnome broom in Nordic design. Decorative throughout the winter – as well as functional.
In Norway it is customary for households to hide all their brooms on Christmas Eve. This is not because they don’t feel like sweeping over Christmas; rather it is to prevent the spirits from stealing their brooms and using them for mischief or taking them for a spin in the Christmas sky.
Hand-tied and assembled.
The knitted hat with the red/white Norwegian pattern is pulled low over the head, so only the bulbous nose and the bushy white beard peep out. The long peak of the hat is reinforced with wire so it keeps its shape, can be styled in a variety of ways and can be wrapped around the broomstick in a decorative way. Soft padding makes the hat nice and cuddly. And if, despite luring the spirits, the gnome broom is left outside it’s also perfect for sweeping up the last autumn leaves or the first snow.
Delivers a clean job as a sweeping gnome.
Consisting of numerous densely-arranged reed bristles, the decorative gnome is also a functional broom. No dirt escapes him, either inside or outside. The strong bamboo handle is very sturdy and sits comfortably in the hand. The broom can either rest on the ground or be hung up; a suspension loop is already attached. Total size 130cm (51.2") L, max. 54cm (21.3) W, 8cm (3.5") D. Weight 550g (1.2 lbs).
