The elegance of a couture blazer. The comfort of a cardigan.

The peplum cardigan by Junghans 1954.

The feminine, waist-accentuating and hip-flattering jacket shape is best known from its use in formal suits. This knitted version is much more comfortable – but no less elegant thanks to the Ramie yarn. Ramie is one of the oldest natural fibres in the world. The bast, also known as “China grass”, is obtained from the stems of Far Eastern nettle plants. From 100kg (220.5 lbs) of harvested plants only 1.5kg (3.3 lbs) to a maximum of 3kg (6.6 lbs) of staple fibres are produced – far too little for the mass market. Therefore, ramie fabric is rarely found.
The fine, evenly knitted texture emphasises the elegant character.
Knitted-in tucks give the peplum fullness and body. The neckline and cuffs are double-layered for shape-retention. Practical two-way zip fastener.

Figure-hugging. Length in size 14: 49cm (19.3"). Colour: Midnight blue. 65% Ramie, 35% polyester. Machine washable. Made in Ireland.
