Ultralight, fluffy and soft. Wonderfully warm and naturally water-resistant.
The zipped jacket with rare possum hair from New Zealand.
In Europe, the pacific “Brushtail Possum” as a source of wool is largely unknown. Conversely in New Zealand, the delicate, fluffy and soft hair of the nocturnal marsupial is appreciated. Because possum hair consists of hollow fibres, it is especially light and extra warm at the same time. Thanks to natural water-repellent properties, it simply shakes off a light rain shower.
Spun in New Zealand. Knitted in Thuringia.
The Lower-Saxonian company pos•sei•mo developed their own possum yarn: Blended with merino wool for optimum breathability, and with silk for elasticity and shape retention. Designer Marianne Birkenfeld leaves the knitting to a Thuringian traditional business with the certified “Made in Germany” seal.
