Eribé Hand-Knitted Summer Pullover

  • Symbolic Aran reliefs instead of just any made-up pattern.
  • They are rare knitted works of art – and support an aid project in India.

Perfect for the summer – and yet a rare find: The hand-knitted Aran pullover.

In white. Made of pure, breathable cotton. By Eribé.

Such beautiful hand-knitted pullovers with the traditional Aran pattern are usually made of thick wool and are only suitable for really cold winter days. This one however is light and airy and made of delicate cotton yarn fashioned into an exceptionally fine knit.
Symbolic Aran reliefs instead of just any made-up pattern.
The typical cable motif represents the cables of the fishing boats and is a symbol of safety. The diamonds are a symbol of success and prosperity. The lively trellis patterns signify the fields surrounded by stone walls. And while cheap pullovers often have a plain back, this one is patterned all over. The front and back, as well as the raglan sleeves, are carefully stitched together by hand – resulting in a perfect fit and lasting durability.
They are rare knitted works of art – and support an aid project in India.
The Scottish Eribé company creates new, contemporary designs from the original patterns used for traditional fishermen’s pullovers. They are knitted in India. The local cooperative gives women in underdeveloped regions the opportunity to earn a living with dignity in accordance with the “trade not aid” principle.
