Trendy again: the flight jacket. But make sure it’s the original by Schott NYC.
The A2, the nylon flight jacket of the U.S. Air Force in the 40s.
The traditional brand Schott NYC has been known for flight jackets for more than 100 years. The New York label has been outfitting the big screen rebels of the 50s and 60s since 1913, has a true fan following among Hollywood stars of today and is regularly featured in all the important Hollywood magazines. While leather bomber jackets start at £800 and go up from there, this cult jacket made of nylon is just £159.
The rugged material is water and windproof.
The relatively lightweight, warmly quilted nylon blouson replaced the heavy flight jackets made of thick leather in the 40s. Attached fitted cuffs on the sleeves and hem as well as the snap button panel over the sturdy metal zip make the jacket windproof.
