Smitten Wooden Bead Necklace

Real handiwork from the Philippines.

From the Pro-Idee Special Shop Fashion Classics
  • The filigree wooden beads are famous in their country for their special shape.
  • Multiple strand necklaces are on-trend, but those with wooden beads are still a rarity.

Real handiwork from the Philippines.

Each of these beautiful wooden bead necklaces is unique.

This wooden bead necklace is a real rarity. It is made by Filipino housewives from whitewashed wood, which is found on the archipelago and is particularly well suited to dyeing. The Fame Foundation ensures that the trees are replanted again and again to sustainably safeguard the livelihood of the women who live there.
The filigree wooden beads are famous in their country for their special shape.
With simple machines, the wood is processed into circular beads, then placed in dye baths and finally threaded one by one onto several strands. Since it is a real handcraft, each piece always looks a little different. This way, the necklace you’ll be wearing won’t exist anywhere else in the world.
Multiple strand necklaces are on-trend, but those with wooden beads are still a rarity.
A simple pull mechanism allows you to wear the necklace in various lengths, enabling a different look over and over again.

Three strands. Beads made of white wood (Pangantuon wood). Cord.
