Baskets made from lorry tyres: Useful planters, for firewood, newspapers, … 100% waterproof and virtually indestructible.
They have already travelled thousands of miles. And are still indestructible: Made from used lorry tyres, these baskets are 100% waterproof, absolutely robust, and long lasting. Far too nice to just transport green waste in them. Ideal to use as planters, to gather leaves, weeds, and cuttings – or to store your firewood indoors. This recycled product is elaborately handmade. Also makes a nice basket for the living room to stack newspapers, magazines, and other bits and bobs.
Recycled product – elaborately handmade.
Coarse saddle stitching firmly holds the base and sides together. This keeps the basket in shape even under heavy loads. The light brown stitching is a nice contrast to the charcoal coloured baskets. Small irregularities with regard to the surface, profile, and colour bear witness to a busy life – and make each basket unmistakably unique.
Immune to wind and weather. Remains beautiful for years even without special care.
Unlike willow or rattan baskets, these are resistant to sunlight, frost, and moisture. Nothing will rot or mildew. Dirt can’t settle into gaps. Simply wipe it out with a moist cloth or vacuum – done. The soft base prevents your valuable parquet and sensitive tiles from becoming scratched. Two sizes: 53 x 28cm and 38 x 24cm (21" x 11" and 15" x 9 2⁄5") (diam. x H). Weigh approx. 3.2kg (7 lbs) or 1.9kg (4.2 lbs) respectively.
