Rich in tradition since 1825. Interior Innovation Award 2014. Also ‘Special Mention’ at the German Design Award 2015.

Clear glass, clear form, clear function. This eye-catching storm lamp brings classic lanterns back into fashion, while its blend of transparent surfaces and distinctive leather handles creates a more modern and elegant look. Pared down and natural – precisely as one would expect of Scandinavian design.
Design: Maria Berntsen for Holmegaard, purveyors to the Court of Denmark.
The Danish King granted Count Danneskiold-Samsøe licence to establish the country’s first glass foundry back in 1825. Since then, Holmegaard has crafted exquisite glass items for important events in court life e.g. the wedding of Frederick, Crown Prince of Denmark, and Mary, Crown Princess, and also the silver wedding anniversary of Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik.
Each lantern is exquisitely mouth-blown and unique.
The delicately curved glass flask is still traditionally made using a blowing iron, while its edges are polished by hand. The round opening on the side is used to insert the tealight or candle (separately available) and requires substantial experience and skill to make.
The handle makes it easy to carry from room to room.
