Vintage Glass Easter Eggs
Beautifully shimmering glass Easter eggs: Mirrored on the inside.
Trendy vintage style. Use as a table decoration, at the window and in flower arrangements ...
A lot more sophisticated than plastic, less rustic than wood: These Easter eggs bring the wonderful, old tradition of mercury glass to a new glory. Once it was a substitute for real silver that only a few could afford, and was originally made in the glass foundries of Bohemia and Moravia during the 19th century. Vessels made from “silvered glass” are delightfully nostalgic collector’s items today – shining elegantly in combination with classic and modern furnishings.
Mirrored on the inside (instead of simply sprayed on) – with lasting silver/pastel gloss.
The strong glass eggs (up to 2mm thick) are coated on the inside with liquid silver nitrate which has been delicately coloured. The fine speckles that give the trendy shabby vintage effect are caused by glucose particles. The intensive mirror finish shines like silver – but does not need to be polished like silver.
With solid metal cap and eyelet. Use as a decoration horizontally or vertically.
Lovely in an Easter nest in different colours and sizes. Or display as an Easter greeting at the window or hanging from a gnarled branch. In premium heavy quality glass.
