Easter Eggs Nostalgic Hare Couple
Magnificent porcelain eggs with hare motifs – and a touching nostalgic charm.
Huge like an ostrich egg. Lovingly and festively decorated. Beautiful as an ornament.
Evoking fond, childhood memories of cuddly toys, adorable painted children’s crockery and beloved picture books about the hustle and bustle of hare family life. The male and female hare are all dressed-up for a festive holiday: She is wearing a dress elaborately embellished with lace and a precious gem necklace; he is wearing a Biedermeier tailcoat, a stand-up collar and a voluminous double bow – just as if the couple wanted to go to the Easter ball.
Instead of bright colours, the tones are subtle.
Bold colours would take away from the refinement of the motifs. Instead, a multitude of delicate brown and grey tones, fine details, and the lively expression of the couple give the motifs the appearance of the old, elaborately drawn examples.
Like the most expensive porcelain, produced with 92% kaolin and high temperature firing.
Unlike ceramics fired from clay, these porcelain eggs are mainly made of precious china clay (kaolin). The hare motifs to be burned-on are briefly moistened and carefully positioned on the porcelain. They are then fired at approx. 1,400°C for a long-lasting image. Identical motif front and back.
Impressive in an Easter nest, feather wreath – or in a decorative cup.
Each is 15.5cm (6.1") high and approx. 13cm (5.1") in diameter. Precious, heavy quality: Each egg weighs approx. 440g (15.5 oz).
