This is the classic Italian summer shoe that allows fresh air to reach your feet. The evenly perforated calf leather (pelle forato - an Italian speciality) in the front part of the shoe allows the air to circulate easily. Yet these shoes (scarpe) are entirely appropriate for formal business wear. And the high 4-eyelet lacing and flat top mean that even modern-style narrow suit trousers will hang perfectly, without catching on your shoes.

The soft calf leather is carefully stitched for a durable finish and lined with finest calf leather. The uppers are attached to the inner sole, welt and outer sole with a single seam that aids the natural, resilient flexing action of the foot when walking. The bottom-filler between the inner sole and the strong leather outer sole moulds itself perfectly to the anatomical shape of your foot. The heel is built up from several layers of leather which provide better cushioning against impacts. And all this at a price which these days is only viable for small, unbureaucratic manufacturing companies.
