Luxurious alpaca wool with a silky sheen makes this cardigan an extremely versatile garment which is suitable for all seasons. You can wear it as an airy knitted shirt or lightweight pullover, over a T-shirt for a casual look or instead of a jacket. It goes well with jeans and business trousers. Worn under a smart city coat or a good quality shower-proof jacket, it will transform these into cold-weather clothing. Alternatively, wear it under a quilted gilet – a comfortable look for cool evenings.

This luxurious alpaca wool from the Andes is still sorted by hand, and only the finest, extremely long, thin fibres are used to make this cardigan. Only these fibres can be spun into the very fine yarn that is extremely resistant to wear and tear.
A challenge, even for experienced Irish knitters.
The purl pattern is created in fine yarn using the intricate side-to-side
knitting technique; the resulting vertical design is unusual and figure-flattering. The fully-fashioned collar, button panel facing and double welts are knitted using a firm, smooth stitch to ensure they keep their shape. Three practical pockets. Length in size 40/42: 30" (68.5cm). Alpaca. The gold of the Incas. The alpacas graze on the high plateaux of the South American Andes, at an altitude of between 4,000 and 5,000 metres, immune to icy cold temperatures and blazing heat, protected only by their extremely hardy fleece. They are shorn every two years, each animal yielding a fleece weighing approx. 3.5 kilograms. Only a single shipment of alpaca wool is available world-wide each year – hence its high price. With its silky sheen, pleasant feel, lightness and warmth, alpaca wool knitwear is fantastically comfortable. The fine alpaca hairs are enveloped by tiny, extremely smooth scales which reflect the light and give alpaca wool its characteristic classic sheen. Their extremely smoothsurface also prevents the long, fine fibres from catching, which means that alpaca wool will not pill and is durable and hardwearing. A long-lasting luxury.
