Completely handmade.
It has been traditionally manufactured by hand for more than 100 years: The “Hippekniep” – the perfect work and pocket knife, famous for its particularly sharp edge.
From the oldest pocket knife smithy in Solingen (Germany).
The 3mm carbon steel blade is still hammered to form by a mastercraftsman’s hand. This steel can be extremely hardened (56 HRC) – and can therefore be ground even thinner and sharper.

Traditionally, the blade is sharpened and polished by hand. It becomes extremely sharp with edge-retaining qualities. The final fine blue-glazing
is one of the most complex techniques of blade processing. The surface receives a fine blue sheen and is particularly smooth.
Grip handles in accurately smoothed and polished rosewood. Hand made manufacture.
The grip handles are rounded off for comfort and lie securely in your hand. The brass rivets are flush in the grip so there’s no bothersome unevenness. The quality timber has a naturally diverse brown/rose coloured striped structure which makes every Hippekniep unique.
Overall length 19.5cm (7 3/4"). The blade is 80mm (3 1/10") long. Rustproof steel is not used in favour of sharpness and edge retention. If it darkens, simply
polish with scouring milk. Weighs 90g (3oz). incl. case.
